London Big Ben and traffic on Westminster Bridge
What is inspiration?, Inspiration according to Oxford dictionary ,is “The process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative”. This definition explains better the term. Most of us needs to be inspired in order to accomplish and get things done. Writer usually travel around the world to find places, people, objects ,animals or any other things that will inspire and motivate them to write. Isabella Whitney is a writer, and one of her famous poem is “Will and Testament”.She is in love with London and explains how bad she felt when she was asked to leave her favorite city. The author portrays her story and grief by using figurative languages. She uses personification by attributing human characteristics to talk about London. For instance She said “I yet Will leave him more”. She is talking as if , she’s separating herself from a lover or going through a bad breakup .
According to the website Atlantic. Com, Linda Gregerson makes a good analysis of the history of London and how much it’s meaningful for Whitney. For instance, through this passage “I first of all to London leave because I there was a bred: Brave buldyngs rare, of churches store, and Paul’s to the head”, we could assume that she’s not leaving the city intentionally but due to her poor economic status. However Linda’s Gregerson interpretation of this passage is “”The speaker is leaving London because she is no longer able to support herself there, she leaves to the city that which she must leave behind , that which is not, in the usual sense, hers to give , that which the city owns or keeps in circulation , that which makes the city what it is”.
The setting of the poem took place In london , during the 1700’s which explains a lot about the economy of the city and Women status. As we know during those period of time , Gender role was still a problem and women were underestimated to men. Therefore, this explains the reason why she couldn’t afford living in London anymore. The author said “For nets of every kynd of sort i leave within the pawne: French rufes, high purles,Gorgets and sleeves of any kind of lawne. For For purse of Knives , for combe of glasse, or any needeful knacke I by the stoics have left a boy, wil aske you what you lack. Linda’s Gingerson analysis of this passage is “what do you lack? Is the street hawker’s cry, distinctive as the church bell or the alehouse sign . “Lack is hawkers slang to “wish to buy”. Lack is the fuel of commerce and also its undoing, lack for the buyer means of appetite and for the one who cannot buy means destitution. Most of all , either immigrants or native love our country. It’s hard to separate yourself from a place that you spend your whole childhood and adulthood at, I therefore feel the pain that Whitney experienced when she was forced to leave London. It wasn’t her choice but something she had to do to survive.

Samirath, I agree that most of us needs something or one in order to be inspired. Lack is the fuel of commerce and also its undoing, lack for the buyer means of appetite and for the one who cannot buy means destitution. Brilliantly put.

Some interesting points here, Samirath, but I still don’t know what locations you plan to use for your map? Keep in mind that we’re working with a different format and genre here, so your writing might not necessarily look like a formal paper.
