Video requirements:
- Your video should be at least 3 (three) minutes long, and no longer than 10 (ten) minutes
- Begin by introducing yourself and your goals for the video
- Describe the physical features of your technology
- Tells us a bit about where you found this, who uses or used it, and to what purpose
- Explain why this technology has become obsolete (e.g. newer versions? lack of hardware? decrease in interest/audience/relevance?)
- OPTIONAL: If possible, show us your object in action!
Instructions:
- You may use your phone or the camera/mic on your computer
- If you have a YouTube account, you may upload the video to your account (please make it Public).
- To post it to our course page:
- go to the top menu (make sure you’re signed in!): under the “+ new” sign select “blog”
- Click “add media” and “insert URL” and copy/paste your YouTube video
- If you recorded from your computer, click “upload files” and find the file on your pc. Please note that files cannot be larger than 40 MB.
- If you recorded from your phone and are creating a blog from your computer, you will have to export the video by (easiest) emailing it to yourself
PRO TIP: Sketch out a script and rehearse your video before hitting record! You might also want to watch some “unboxing” videos to get ideas for typically highlighted features, pacing, and performance.
